Indeed we are going to provide you with funk, also known in Jamaica as hogo. Not to mention that hogo comes from the French term haut-gout, translating to “high taste” in English and our ingredients include:
- Column-distilled 95,8% Alcohol By Volume (ABV) rum
- Funky pot-distilled high-ester rum
- 100% pure Dutch water
Since we source one of our rums in this blend from Jamaica, we welcome traditional techniques such as longer fermentation and the use of dunder. Meanwhile these methods infuse our rums with depth and complexity, such as the vibrant tropical fruit notes and earthy characteristic of Jamaican rum-making.
Crafted with precision
So our process begins by combining the rums at their original strength, at an impressive 95.8% ABV (Alcohol By Volume) whereafter we blend the distinct Jamaican high-ester rum, adding extra layers.
Subsequently, we dilute the blend to a 37.5% ABV using pure water, for optimal balance and flavor. Obviously this process happens at our state-of-the-art distillery and bottlery in Schiedam, below sea level in our Dutch homeland.
